SMADESEP President Victor BERENGUEL was pleased to welcome a large delegation from the Prefecture on Wednesday July 31, open to representatives of the syndicat mixte's members, the SUD Region and EDF. Almost two years to the day after his visit to Serre-Ponçon during the drought of 2022, M. Christophe MIRMAND, Préfet de Région, was able to measure the progress made with his colleagues Préfets des Départements des Alpes de Haute-Provence Marc CHAPPUIS and des Hautes-Alpes Dominique DUFOUR: while every effort will always be made to ensure that the lake is filled to capacity at the start of the summer season, the lake's development should also enable it to cope better with periods of drought, which will unfortunately become more frequent with global warming. Mitigating global disruption, adapting to it and diversifying activities on the lake towards less tide-sensitive media are the key words structuring the 60 operations prioritized for the next 5 years, at a total investment of around 18.5 million euros.
SMADESEP's major institutional partners are unanimously committed to this approach, with a host of government representatives in attendance, including Agnès ROSSI for the SUD Region, Stéphanie MARCO for EDF and Marion MAGNAN and Patrick RICOU for the two Alpine departments.
