Answers for boaters II

Port equipment

As announced on Friday January 24, we will be publishing the answers to the questions and comments made by port users in the port satisfaction questionnaire sent out in September 2024.

Today, 2 other themes:

1.Bathing in ports

We have received two types of comments on this issue:

  • Some would like us to install ladders on the pontoons for access to the water;
  • Others deplore the number of bathers in the ports.

Article 26.01 of the port regulations is very clear (download here): "Swimming and water sports are prohibited in port waters, except by special dispensation."

So we won't be installing ladders on the pontoons, as we don't want to encourage swimming in the harbor. Signage is currently being updated to make the ban easier to understand for everyone.

2.Fuel prices

Many yachtsmen have expressed dissatisfaction with the prices charged by the gas stations on the lake.

The proposed rate depends on 2 parameters:

  • The price charged by the Fos-sur-Mer depot on the morning of fuel delivery to the Serre-Ponçon gas stations;
  • The application of a surcharge of €0.31 per liter, including tax, which corresponds to part of the costs incurred by SMADESEP in providing the fueling service (investments in stations, pontoons, security, electricity, maintenance, personnel, ....)

Despite this additional cost, the fuelling service remains in deficit, as public services often are. This does not prevent SMADESEP from continuing to invest to offer a better quality service: for example, in 2022, two additional storage tanks were installed at Savines-le-Lac and Chorges to limit supply disruptions.
