Bathing water quality

The syndicat mixte's mission is to monitor the quality of bathing water and bathers on the beaches of Lac de Serre-Ponçon.

In addition to the checks carried out by the ARS every 15 days during the summer season, the syndicat is authorized to carry out additional checks to guarantee bathing water quality through more regular monitoring.

Over the course of the season, the syndicate carries out 5 additional samplings (1 in June and 4 in July-August) on all 9 public beaches.

These data are transmitted directly to the ARS, and the results of regulatory sampling are available on :

They are also posted at each bathing site, at the aid stations.

If bacteriological concentrations exceed the thresholds defined by the European directive on bathing water quality, beaches may be temporarily closed to the public by municipal decree, until better results are obtained.
