The Lake of Serre-Ponçon offers many routes to discover by kayaking or by rowing. This activity is mainly practiced in the morning or evening when the wind and waves are low. Navigation in sea kayaking on the lake of Serre-Ponçon allows you to discover natural areas in silence and to contemplate the many mountain peaks around it.
Several providers rent kayaks and canoes around the lake; some organize “sunset trips" or "day or half - day tours".
You have the possibility to pass a small boat by a pontoon from the pond of Embrun to the Lake of Serre-Ponçon.
Boats, other than beach gear, whose propulsion is provided by paddles for canoes and kayaks and rowing, must be registered with maritime affairs and are exempted to have external brands of identity. The navigation card, delivered by registration, must be kept on board. All kayaking, canoeing, rowing not-registered is beach gear. Beach gear can’t leave the shore band and does not require safety equipment materials.
