The Technical brigades

In order to adequately fulfil the needs demanded by the tourist season, the Mixed Union is equipped with a seasonal brigade in charge of the maintenance of public spaces at Serre-Ponçon for six months. Gilles BRENIER and Marc CHEVALIER ensure the preparation and clean-up of sites and nautical equipment installed on the banks of the big lake of the Southern Alps.

More broadly, the marking, the macro waste management, the maintenance of the shoreline, parks and surveyed beaches are recurring works which are an important part of the activity of SMADESEP‘s technical teams. Two times a day during the summer you can see our teams mobilized on the cleaning of the four beaches and its ten public sanitary blocks. Two technical boats are used to mark the reservoir and to maintain the floating booms, which, at the entrance of the lake side Ubaye or Durance, can retain a maximum of waste (trees and branches). These "macro waste" are then gradually stranded on some bank sectors and burned during the winter.

The technical teams of SMADESEP are during the "slack" period, from October to April, occupied with this work, but also with a lot of work aside;  installing picnic area, repairing of sanitary blocks, establishment of anchors to moor the pontoons, repairing of nautical equipment, clearing and landscaping works which require a significant mobilization of human resources ...

In collaboration with the departmental fishing federation of the Hautes-Alpes, teams of the Mixed Union finally participate in the fish farming that allows the maintenance and development of certain species of fish in the reservoir.
